We’re Here to Help
We know that taking the first step toward therapy or professional development can come with a lot of questions, and we’re here to help. Whether you’re a parent exploring counseling services for your child or teen, a postpartum mother seeking support, or a clinician looking for supervision and consulting opportunities, this page is designed to guide you through the details.
Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our counseling services, consulting offerings, and what to expect when working with the B.Well team. If you don’t see your question here, we’re just a phone call or email away.
Starting Therapy with B.Well
-
Your first step is to fill out the intake form on our Contact page. Once submitted, our administrative assistant will reach out to learn more about your needs and help match you with the right clinician.
-
We take time to understand your unique concerns and goals before matching you with a provider. Our team considers clinical specialties, availability, and personality fit to ensure you feel comfortable and supported from the start.
-
Your first session is all about building a foundation of trust. You’ll have the opportunity to share what brought you in, ask questions, and work with your therapist to outline goals and next steps. For children, we may also involve caregivers in the process depending on the child’s age and needs.
-
Once we receive your contact form, you can typically expect to hear from us within 1-2 business days. Appointment availability may vary by clinician; however, we strive to schedule your first session as soon as possible.
-
While we don’t offer formal consultations, our intake process is designed to answer your questions and ensure you feel confident about moving forward. We’re here to make the transition into care as smooth and supportive as possible.
-
It’s completely normal for children to feel nervous before starting therapy. You can support your child by explaining that therapy is a safe space where they can talk, play, and share their feelings with someone who’s there to help. Use simple, reassuring language and let them know it’s okay to ask questions. At B.Well, our therapists are trained to meet children where they are. Helping them feel safe, supported, and at ease from the moment they walk through the door.

The No Surprises Act is a federal law that protects clients from unexpected medical bills, especially if you’re not using insurance. As part of this law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) that outlines the expected costs of therapy services if you’re paying out of pocket.
At B.Well Counseling & Consulting, we are committed to transparency and will provide a Good Faith Estimate before your first session, or upon request, so you can make informed decisions about your care. While the actual cost of treatment may vary based on your individual needs, this estimate offers a helpful overview of what to expect financially.

Your First Visit
-
Your first session is an opportunity for you (or your child) to become comfortable, share what’s bringing you in, and start building a connection with your therapist. We’ll discuss your goals, explore what support looks like for you, and address any questions you may have. There’s no pressure to dive too deep right away; we move at your pace.
-
We strive to be a paperless practice, and all intake paperwork will be sent securely through our Simple Practice Client Portal.
-
Let them know they’re going to meet someone who’s there to help them feel better and talk about what’s on their mind. Explain that they can play, draw, or talk - whatever feels right for them. Reassure them that there are no wrong answers and that it’s okay to be nervous. We’ll do everything we can to make them feel safe and supported.
-
Initial sessions typically last between 45 to 60 minutes. This gives us time to get to know you (or your child), talk through goals, and begin developing a plan for ongoing care.
